Digital Equity Field of Interest Fund
If you are reading this right now, chances are you are doing it via the internet. Yet 42 million people in the U.S. still do not have internet at home.
In an increasingly interconnected world, access to digital resources and technology is no longer a luxury but a fundamental necessity for individuals and communities to thrive. However, disparities in digital access and skills persist, creating a digital divide that disproportionately affects marginalized populations. To address this pressing issue, the Digital Equity Field of Interest Fund gives grants to organizations and programs working on all facets of digital equity, including:
- Affordable, quality broadband internet service
- Internet enabled devices
- Digital skills
- Quality support
- Applications and online content designed to enable and encourage self-sufficient, participation and collaboration
Grantmaking strategy and decisions are set by a committee of volunteer advisors and experts in their field, chosen carefully for their wisdom and lived experience in this space. Collectively, they bring together pieces of the digital equity puzzle into a cohesive grantmaking strategy, unique in its ability to see the whole picture of where the gaps and leverage points exist for funders nationwide.
Please join us in closing the gap in digital disparities in Boulder County and beyond. By engaging in this form of trust-based philanthropy, you will join a community of experts and funders who are passionate about this topic, and you can be assured that your funding will go exactly where it is needed most to maximize impact in this field.
