More than $400K already granted to local agencies and programs serving our LGBTQ population

About the Open Door Fund
The Open Door Fund supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning (LGBTQ+) individuals and allies in Boulder County.
From seniors to youth, our LGBTQ+ community faces persistent challenges including discrimination in the workplace, at school, when seeking healthcare, and in public spaces, as well as increased mental health struggles due to discrimination, stigma, and social isolation.
In response, the Open Door Fund, a permanent endowment of Community Foundation Boulder County, aims to support the strengths and needs of the LGBTQ+ community in Boulder County through grantmaking to organizations supporting LGBTQ+ individuals.
Since 1996 the fund has raised over $2M from thousands of donors and distributed nearly $1M to provide for the continuing needs of this community.
The mission of the Open Door Fund is to:
- Support the strengths and needs of LGBTQ+ people in Boulder County.
- Build the LGBTQ+ community.
- Foster collaboration and dialogue between the LGBTQ+ population and the broader community.
- Provide a source of support for organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community.
